People who are limited by languages which do not include gender neutral pronouns have attempted to create them, in the interest of greater equality. I’ve been wearing a button on my name badge at work that says “She, Her, Hers” for about two weeks. Adding your pronouns to your email signature can help normalize the practice and demonstrate a willingness to respect people’s indicated pronouns. Sometimes a person’s gender identity (the way the person identifies internally in terms of their gender) doesn’t align with their gender expression (the way they look). By using a person's pronouns, you demonstrate that you affirm and respect their identity.
